Our Treatment Process

Step 1 — Initial Physiotherapy Assessment (60 Minutes)

Understand the Cause, Not Just the Symptoms

Every new client begins with a comprehensive assessment designed to understand exactly what's causing your pain or limiting your performance.

During your appointment we'll take the time to:

✔ Discuss your injury, symptoms and medical history

✔ Understand how the problem started and what aggravates or eases it

✔ Learn about your work, sport, hobbies and personal goals

✔ Assess your posture, movement patterns and biomechanics

✔ Test your strength, flexibility, balance and joint mobility

✔ Perform any appropriate special tests to help identify the affected structures

This thorough assessment allows us to build a complete picture of your condition, rather than simply treating the area that hurts.

Our goal isn't just to reduce pain — it's to identify the root cause and create the most effective recovery plan for you.

Step 2 — Report of Findings (15 Minutes)

Understanding Your Injury & Recovery Plan

Once your assessment has been completed, we'll schedule a dedicated 15-minute Report of Findings (ROF).

This is where everything comes together.

We'll explain, in simple language:

✔ What we've found during your assessment

✔ Our clinical diagnosis (where appropriate)

✔ What's likely causing your symptoms

✔ Why the pain keeps returning (if applicable)

✔ Your rehabilitation goals

✔ Expected recovery timeframes

✔ Recommended treatment frequency

✔ What treatment techniques are most appropriate

✔ What you can begin doing yourself straight away

You'll also have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, ensuring you fully understand your injury and the reasoning behind your treatment plan.

We believe informed clients recover better.

Step 3 — Follow-Up Treatment Sessions (45 Minutes)

Where Recovery Happens

Your follow-up appointments are focused on progressing your recovery using a combination of hands-on treatment and active rehabilitation.

Depending on your needs, sessions may include:

✔ Manual therapy

✔ Soft tissue therapy

✔ Sports massage

✔ Dry needling

✔ Joint mobilisation

✔ Mobility work

✔ Strength & conditioning

✔ Functional rehabilitation

✔ Return-to-sport or return-to-work exercises

Every session is tailored to how you're progressing, with your rehabilitation plan adjusted as needed to keep you moving towards your goals.

Step 4 — Return to Full Function

Stronger Than Before

Our aim isn't simply to get you pain-free.

We want you to move confidently, perform at your best and reduce the risk of the problem returning.

Your rehabilitation is progressed through clear stages:

Phase 1 – Reduce Pain & Settle Symptoms
Manage pain, improve comfort and begin restoring movement.

Phase 2 – Restore Movement
Improve joint mobility, flexibility and normal movement patterns.

Phase 3 – Build Strength
Develop strength, stability and resilience through targeted rehabilitation.

Phase 4 – Return to Activity
Gradually return to work, the gym, running or sport with confidence.

Phase 5 – Maintain & Prevent
Continue building long-term resilience and reduce the risk of future injuries.
